Meet Josh on March 13th from 5-7 PM

A Leader for ALL Ontario

My name is Josh Bradley, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Ontario.

This city is my home. It is where I have built my life, made lifelong friendships, and seen firsthand what makes our community so special. I am running for mayor because I truly care about Ontario and the people who live here. I believe we can do more to improve our city while preserving the values and traditions that make it feel like home.

Over the next few months, I look forward to meeting with you, hearing your concerns, and sharing my vision for a better Ontario. This campaign is not about me. It is about all of us working together to make Ontario the very best it can be. I am excited for this journey and hope to earn your trust and support!

On the Issues

Streets

In 2023, the city of Ontario had a paving analysis conducted by a private company to rate and grade each street from 0-100 based on existing distress. This ensures that the process of selection each year is based solely on condition and not influenced by any other factors. By removing subjectivity from the decision-making process, we ensure that our road maintenance program is fair, effective, and addresses the most critical needs first.

Safety

Since joining the council in 2020, I have served on the Safety Committee, in that time the committee, and council has achieved several key improvements that directly impact the well-being of our community:

Personnel

City employees are the backbone of our community. These individuals maintain our roads, respond to emergencies, and provide essential public services. Though their work may not always be visible, it is absolutely critical to the functionality and prosperity of Ontario. Strengthening trust, honesty, and respect between employees and administration is key to maintaining an effective workforce and fostering a positive work environment.

Economic Development

As chair of the Economic Development Committee since 2022, I have worked with fellow council members to advance several key initiatives:

Parks

In January 2021, I was honored to be appointed chair of the city's park committee, a role that allowed me to work alongside dedicated leaders to improve our public recreational spaces. During my tenure, the committee partnered with Mayor Randy Hutchinson, the city's finance committee, and city council to create and implement a comprehensive parks improvement project. This initiative, completed in 2022, included:

Utilities

Ontario's water distribution system is an extensive network of 6-to-16-inch pipes spanning over 90 miles beneath our city. However, much of this system consists of cast iron mains that were installed decades ago during a period of rapid national growth. Unfortunately, the manufacturing processes of that era resulted in lower-quality materials, making our water infrastructure more prone to breaks and leaks as it ages.
